Summer
is fast approaching and when temperatures reach 100
degrees the chance of plant stress is very high.
Recommended watering is deep and infrequent on
established plants.
New
plantings and summer annuals will need more frequent
watering. This means drip systems should be run 2 to 6
hours depending on the plant material. Mulching around
the base of plants will help retain moisture in the
soil.
Summer
lawns will need to be watered deeply and again not too
often, remember bemuda grass roots deeply in the soil
and can withstand several days between waterings.
