Berridge Nurseries, Inc. was founded in 1938 by James Berridge, Jr.
At that time the nursery was located on the southeast corner of Earl and Central Avenue, on approximately three acres.
With his young family, Jim lived on the property. Following his passion for plants and landscaping, he identified a need
in the Phoenix market for a small nursery and landscape facility.

In 1952, the nursery moved to east of 16th Street on Camelback Road where Jim had 21 acres of retail space and
growing ground. In 1980 the nursery property was sold and the business was moved to the existing site east of 44th
Street on Camelback Road.

Today the nursery remains a family business and is managed by Meredith Walton who serves as president of
the company.
Just as Jim Berridge did nearly 72 years ago, Meredith strives to offer unparalleled customer service in
addition to the area's best selection of premium plants, trees and shrubs hand-picked for Phoenix's unique growing and
gardening conditions.

As has been her family for several generations, Meredith is active in the community Berridge Nurseries serves. The
company supports many local schools and other charitable organizations by donating gift certificates, plants and other
products.
